Generation of a HAR file for troubleshooting

Flexopus customer support occasionally needs additional information about the network requests generated in your browser, which is where a HAR file comes in useful.

Note: A HAR file contains data such as the content of your cookies and the pages you downloaded during the recording. Anyone who has access to the HAR file can view the data submitted during the recording, including personal or other sensitive data. Make sure that you protect your HAR files accordingly.

Click on the browser you are using:

Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and go to the page where the problem occurs.
  2. Press F12 or open the settings (3 dots top right) and select More tools > Developer tools.
  3. Select the Network tab in the window that appears. You must leave the menu open while you reproduce the problem. 
  4. Locate the round record button at the top left of the tab and make sure it is red. If it is gray, click the button once to start recording.

  5. Activate the Keep log checkbox.
  6. Click on the button with the crossed-out circle to delete all existing logs from the "Network" tab.
  7. Reproduce your problem while the network requests are being recorded.
  8. Click on the download button and save the file in HAR format

  9. Send the file to Flexopus Support.

Firefox

  1. Open Firefox and go to the page where the problem occurs.
  2. Press F12 or open the settings (burger menu top right) and select More tools > Web Developer Tools.
  3. In the window that appears, select the Network tab.
  4. Start the recording if it is not yet running.

  5. Reproduce your problem while the network requests are being recorded.

  7. Send the file to Flexopus Support.
